In the Old Testament, Jezreel was both a person and a place: the Valley of Jezreel (also called the Jezreel Plain or Valley of Armageddon) is one of the most fertile agricultural regions in the ancient Near East, located in northern Israel. It was also the name given by the prophet Hosea to his son as a prophetic symbol.
